Description
Enjoy a delicious Tropical Bacon Pineapple Burger with a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 4 pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
- 8 slices bacon
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce leaves (optional)
- Sliced red onions (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Bacon: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place bacon slices on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain excess fat.
- Grill the Pineapple: In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and soy sauce. Brush the pineapple rings with the mixture. Heat a grill pan over medium heat and grill pineapple rings for 2-3 minutes on each side until caramelized.
- Prepare the Burger Patties: Season the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than the buns. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each patty for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- Assemble the Burger: Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. Spread barbecue sauce on the bottom buns. Place the beef patty with melted cheese on each bun. Add a grilled pineapple ring on top of the patty. Place two crispy bacon slices over the pineapple. Add lettuce and red onions if desired. Top with the other half of the bun with more barbecue sauce.
Notes
- For Spiciness: Add jalapeño slices or a spicy barbecue sauce.
- For Extra Flavor: Marinade the beef patties in soy sauce and brown sugar for 30 minutes before grilling.
- Cheese Variations: Substitute cheddar with pepper jack or Swiss for different flavors.
- Serving Suggestion: Pair with sweet potato fries or a fresh green salad.
