Description

This delicious caramelized onion puff pastry is perfect as an appetizer or main course.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 3 medium yellow onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
  4. Transfer the pastry to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread caramelized onions evenly over it and top with shredded Gruyère cheese.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  6. Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm as an appetizer or main course.
