Description
A refreshing strawberry sorbet made with fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Start by hulling and halving the strawberries. This will help release their juices and make blending easier.
- In a blender, combine the halved strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, water, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth and the mixture is uniform.
- Before proceeding, taste the mixture. Adjust sweetness by adding more sugar if desired or balance with an extra squeeze of lemon juice.
- If you prefer an ultra-smooth sorbet, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds. This step is optional, as some prefer the texture.
- Pour the blended mixture into a shallow container. A metal pan works best for even freezing.
- Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the freezer. Allow the sorbet to freeze for about 4 hours, or until completely firm.
- Once frozen, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly, making it easier to scoop.
- Use an ice cream scoop to serve in bowls or dessert glasses. Garnish with fresh mint or a slice of strawberry for an appealing touch.
Notes
- For an added flavor, consider using some lemon zest in the mixture.
- This sorbet can be stored in the freezer for up to two weeks.
