Description

Delicious cheese-stuffed meatballs made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a blend of fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped spinach
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • Marinara sauce for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare Spinach: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped spinach and sauté until wilted. Set aside to cool.
  3. Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  4. Shape Meatballs: Take a small amount of meat mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a cube of mozzarella cheese and a bit of sautéed spinach in the center. Wrap the meat around the cheese and spinach to form a ball, ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed.
  5. Cook Meatballs: Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Serve: Serve hot with marinara sauce on the side, if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the meatballs are uniformly sized to ensure even cooking.
  • Use your favorite cheese for stuffing to customize the flavor.
  • Be careful not to overmix the meatball mixture to keep them tender.
  • Optional: Fry the meatballs in olive oil before baking for a crispier exterior.
