Description
Delicious cheese-stuffed meatballs made with ground beef, breadcrumbs, and a blend of fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped spinach
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- Marinara sauce for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare Spinach: Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped spinach and sauté until wilted. Set aside to cool.
- Mix Meatball Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape Meatballs: Take a small amount of meat mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a cube of mozzarella cheese and a bit of sautéed spinach in the center. Wrap the meat around the cheese and spinach to form a ball, ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed.
- Cook Meatballs: Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
- Serve: Serve hot with marinara sauce on the side, if desired.
Notes
- Ensure the meatballs are uniformly sized to ensure even cooking.
- Use your favorite cheese for stuffing to customize the flavor.
- Be careful not to overmix the meatball mixture to keep them tender.
- Optional: Fry the meatballs in olive oil before baking for a crispier exterior.
