  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • to taste salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

    • Slice the fresh mozzarella into thick, even slices.
    • Halve the cherry tomatoes.
    • Rinse and pat dry the basil leaves.
  2. Assemble the Stack:
    • On a large serving plate, start layering by placing one slice of mozzarella.
    • Top with a couple of cherry tomato halves.
    • Add a basil leaf or two.
    • Continue layering the slices of mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil leaves in a circular pattern, tapering inward to create a tower shape.

    • Once the tower is complete, drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the entire stack.
    • Drizzle with balsamic glaze for added flavor and presentation.
    • Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Notes

  • Use high-quality, fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • A serrated knife works well for slicing mozzarella to avoid tearing.
  • Adjust the balsamic glaze’s sweetness to your preference.
  • For a more colorful presentation, consider using a mix of red and yellow cherry tomatoes.
