Description
This no-knead bread is easy to make and requires just a few ingredients. Perfect for beginners!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced or roasted
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (plus more for the skillet)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.
- Fold in garlic and rosemary. Cover with plastic wrap or a towel and let rest at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
- After resting, transfer dough to a floured surface. Gently shape it into a ball and let rest for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a cast iron skillet or Dutch oven inside to heat for 20 minutes.
- Carefully remove the skillet, add olive oil or line with parchment. Place the dough inside.
- Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until golden and crusty.
- Remove from skillet and let cool on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- Ensure the warm water is not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
- Letting the dough rest longer will enhance the flavor.
