Description

A delicious banana bread perfect for breakfast or a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar (brown or granulated)
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well until combined.
  4. Stir in the baking soda and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the sugar and beaten egg to the mixture, stirring until combined.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
  7. Gradually add the all-purpose flour. Mix just until incorporated; avoid overmixing for a tender loaf.
  8. If desired, fold in nuts or chocolate chips gently into the batter.
  9. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  10. Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean when it’s done.
  11. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then, turn the bread out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
