Description
A delicious banana bread perfect for breakfast or a snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 3/4 cup sugar (brown or granulated)
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan by greasing it lightly.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well until combined.
- Stir in the baking soda and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Add the sugar and beaten egg to the mixture, stirring until combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour. Mix just until incorporated; avoid overmixing for a tender loaf.
- If desired, fold in nuts or chocolate chips gently into the batter.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean when it’s done.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Then, turn the bread out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- This banana bread is best served warm.
- Add more mix-ins like coconut or dried fruit for variation.
