Description

A delicious loaded nacho platter with beef, cheese, and fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mixed cheese)
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
  • 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. Add the taco seasoning and a little water. Stir well and cook for another 5 minutes or until the beef is well coated and cooked through. Set aside.
  2. Assemble Nachos: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread a layer of tortilla chips evenly on a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Evenly distribute the cooked beef over the chips. Drizzle half of the nacho cheese sauce over the beef and chips. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  3. Bake: Place the nachos in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Top and Serve: Remove the nachos from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Top with salsa, sour cream, diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, and green bell pepper. Garnish with chopped cilantro if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add guacamole or avocado slices before serving.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese, like Monterey Jack or pepper jack, for added spice.
  • Keep an eye on the nachos while baking to ensure the cheese doesn’t burn.
  • If you prefer spicier nachos, increase the amount of jalapeños or add some hot sauce.
