This delicious cheesecake is paired with a yellow cake base, making for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients

- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 24 oz cream cheese
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 6 oz bittersweet chocolate
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Prepare yellow cake mix according to box directions and bake in a springform pan. Let cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Pour over cooled cake base and bake until set. Chill.
- In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat until thick. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Cool slightly, then spread over cheesecake. Chill.
- Heat heavy cream until simmering, pour over chopped chocolate, wait one minute, then stir until smooth. Let cool slightly and pour over custard.
- Chill the entire cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight. Slice with a hot knife for clean cuts.
Notes
- This cheesecake can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
- Serve with fresh berries for a nice contrast.
