Description
This delicious baked chicken is topped with marinara sauce, pesto, and mozzarella cheese for a comforting meal.

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup basil pesto
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
- Place chicken breasts into the baking dish and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Spoon marinara sauce evenly over each chicken breast.
- Spread pesto on top of the marinara layer using a spoon.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese generously over each piece of chicken.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
- Check chicken internal temperature (should reach 165°F).
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
